Wesley Herche, Ph.D., MBA

Dr. Wesley Herche is the Associate Director of Research with the Global Security Initiative (GSI) at Arizona State University (ASU). He leads numerous efforts at GSI involving the building and managing of interdisciplinary research teams, and serves as a cross-functional “bridge” and leader to the GSI affiliated faculty and research staff, as well as liaison in fostering relationships with government and private-sector entities outside of ASU in the security, defense and intelligence communities. Before coming to ASU, Dr. Herche spent most of his career in the U.S. defense and intelligence community, including the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).

Dr. Herche earned his Ph.D. in Sustainability at the School of Sustainability at Arizona State University with a dissertation focusing on policy, geospatial and market factors in the global renewable energy market. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography from Southern Illinois University, and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management with a focus in international strategy.
