Computational mathematics, which comprises of modeling, analysis, simulation and computing have become the foundation for solving most global challenges. Some examples of these global challenges involving criminal activities include understanding dynamics of gang-behavior, stopping drug abuse and addiction that often leads to crimes, social dynamics of human trafficking, tracking poaching to stop illicit ivory trading and cybercrimes including computer virus transmission.
