Ashley Lee is originally from Crystal, NM and is of the Black Streaked Wood people clan, born for Water's Edge people clan and she is a mother to three wonderful children. Ashley obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Diné College in the spring of 2019. Her recent undergraduate research focused on the role of media in mass shootings, in collaborative studies facilitated between Diné College and George Mason University. She holds a variety of research interests ranging from mass shootings, grief in a cultural context, and issues relevant to her Navajo Nation communities. As a self-identified Indigenous researcher, she is excited to direct her focus to issues on the Navajo reservation. Ashley feels so fortunate and elated to be a part of Johns Hopkins Center for American Indian Health as a research program assistant and engage with JHCAIH research projects on the Navajo Nation. Ashley joined the Johns Hopkins Center for American Health Fort Defiance, AZ site in December of 2019.
