Profiling hoax callers: Forensic analysis of voice recordings

Researchers have developed a prototype model to determine characteristics of speakers from voice recordings. It extracts unprecedented levels of information from audio such as 911 calls and interviews about the speaker, including stress levels, pulse, blood pressure, facial characteristics, degree of intoxication and attempts to disguise ones voice. This will assist law enforcement with identifying and cultivating leads.

The prototype will help law enforcement officers to conclude investigations more quickly and with greater success.
